The image of the woman pilot has changed throughout the years. Our members have included the early pioneers in jodphurs and boots, to the airline captains and the astronaut(s). The sky is no longer the limit; we can do anything if we work together.
We learn from each other and we give to each other through our common interest. We share our knowledge and experience for the benefit of aviation.
We also offer the most robust scholarship program within aviation. Over $10 million dollars has been awarded to student pilots and those already holding a rating. We offer scholarships for every rating you could want, including jet ratings, to research scholarships.
The 99s are women pilots who share, learn, and encourage each other.

Cathleen (Cathy) SteeleI have been an active CFI since 1998 and have accrued over 6000 of dual given. Previously I have been the Chief Flight Instructor at a Part 141 flight training school located at KBWI and also served as the Chief Flight Instructor at the first flight training academy in Nepal. Currently I am an independent Cirrus Instructor pilot with Platinum status.
