We know that Amelia Earhart was a pioneer in aviation, but did you know that she was also a pioneer in higher education? In 1935, Purdue University made a radical decision for that time and hired Amelia as a career counselor to female students and a special advisor in aeronautics. In return, Purdue funded a Lockheed Electra that would serve as a flying laboratory as it circumnavigated the globe.
